THURLES FUNDRAISERS

3Ts have been privileged to work with groups throughout Ireland on fundraising initiatives and over the past few years have enjoyed particular support from the community in Thurles. In 2005, a local family raised an outstanding €35,000 through a sponsored hike of the Devil’s Bit and a table quiz.

The funds were raised over a matter of months and were donated to both 3Ts and Console.

This was followed later the same year with a Race Night held in Larry's Bar, with proceeds donated to 3Ts. Our thanks to all the staff and customers at Larrys and especially to organiser Helen Ryan for the great support we have received. Funds raised contributed to the 3Ts All Ireland Survey.

The following year Eoghan O’Sullivan and Adrian Kennedy cultivated a healthy beard growth only to have it all shaved off in aid of the 3Ts. The Beard Shave was held with suitable pomp and ceremony in The Arch Bar, Thurles. Auction items included a Munster Rugby Jersey and Ball and the event raised €5,100 for the 3Ts. Our sincere thanks to Eoghan O’Sullivan and family, Adrian Kennedy, to Auctioneer Sean Spain, to the Hayes Family of the Arch Bar and to collection co-ordinator, Simone. 3Ts has undertaken to put these funds back into the community in Thurles through the “Parents Plus” programme for in conjunction with the Mater Foundation and the Parents Plus charity.
