Launched by top Irish golfer, Padraig, the annual 3TS All Ireland Golf Tournament is now in its fourth year. This national golf tournament was first launched in 2003 by 3Ts as a means of raising awareness and funding for suicide prevention in Ireland .

Since its inception the tournament has been supported by Padraig Harrington, Paul McGinley and Darren Clarke. The tournament has also been very well received by Irish golfers with 8,000 - 12,000 golfers participating at club level annually.

Commenting on the launch of the tournament, Joe MacAvin, 3TS Golf Tournament Co-ordinator said:

“This is one of the key annual fundraising events for the 3TS and we have been delighted with the response from clubs around the country. We are also very proud of the fact that three of Ireland 's top golfers are willing to lend their time to supporting the tournament. The money raised from the tournament goes toward funding crucial projects to build the 3TS Awareness Campaign for action, intervention and prevention of suicide at all levels of our society.”

Competition Format:
The competition is played stableford, two scores to count, full handicaps and the format for 2006 was Club Ladies Captain, winner of Men's Competition, winner of Ladies Competition and PGA Professional. 2003 and 2005 were the years for the Club Captains.

The event is open to every golf club in Ireland, regardless of size or whether they have a professional (see note below), and can be run in conjunction with an existing event or as a new competition. The winners in each club progress to a provincial final and provincial final winners compete in the National Final at the K Club. The lucky national winners travel to Cape Town South Africa to play the international final.

Remember:

  • It can be run in conjunction with a Club competition;
  • It does not have to be a separate event;
  • All these competitions are played stableford, two scores to count, full handicaps.
  • The entry fee is €10 for each participant;
  • This year the team will consist of:
    • Club Ladies Captain
    • Club Professional
    • Winner of Men's Competition

Clubs must enter the competition on the official entry form and all participants must pay the €10 entry fee. This member must also have participated in the club competition and have paid the entry fee.
